Warmer temps are here and we’re ready to get outside and enjoy the beautiful sunshine and clear, blue skies! Grab your picnic basket, jump in the car, and make a quick stop by Steel City Pops for the perfect picnic dessert. How do we get your pops ready to go? Easy!
The 4 Pop Bag
The 4 Pop Bag is perfect for short trips. This is a great way to take pops straight from the shop to your freezer at home. Your pops should stay cold in the bag for 10-15 minutes. If your travel time will be more like a 20-30 minute trip, ask for an ice pack. We’ll throw one in (free of charge) to help your pops stay nice and cold for the ride home.
The 12 Pop Box
Our 12 Pop Box is perfect if you want more than a few pops. Our styrofoam box surrounds your pops and keeps them cold for 1 – 2 hours. We’ll pack your pops into the box, slide on one of our carry out sleeves, and you will be good to go! PRO TIP: When you get home, take the lid off the styrofoam box so that the cold air can get to your pops and keep them frozen.
The Flip Box Cooler
We think our Flip Box Cooler is a great deal! If you are ordering a large number of pops (50 or more) and want to carry them out of our store, this is the way to do it. Made of expanded polypropylene this cooler is very light weight and easy to handle. It will keep your large pop orders cold for up to 2 hours with NO ICE! We can add dry ice to your order and your pops won’t melt for up to 10 hours. (Give us 48 hours notice.) Best of all, this cooler is reusable! It keeps cold things cold and hot things hot so you can use it for more than transporting your pops. It breaks down to store flat and is dishwasher safe.
Travel Your Way
Want to use your own cooler to travel to your picnic with your pops? No problem! Bring in your cooler from home and we’ll fill it up. Here are a few tips to make sure your pops travel well:
- Your pops will stay colder longer if there is not a lot of extra air in your cooler. It would be better to fill up a smaller cooler with pops than to have just a few pops in a large cooler. The more air in the cooler the warmer the temperature, which is not good for pops!
- It is better for your pops if your cooler is room temperature or chilled before we put the pops in it. A warm cooler will melt your pops. Add ice or dry ice to make sure your pops stay frozen. If you are transporting a lot of pops and would like to drop off your cooler in advance we’ll keep it nice and cold and have it packed and ready when you come back.
